Arts n' Hay Fest

What the Hay??? Put on your blue jeans and bring your creativity! This hay-art contest stretches over across the farm. Activities - which include weekend bale-art creations, local artists, interactive kids fun, hay-bale sculptures, and a BBQ on Saturday, Sept 11th with live music with the Keith Remple Band with a art show and sale. Star gaze at the corn maze and have fun getting lost and the huge 7-acre Corn Maze. The kids will love racing through the Kids 6-Minute Pumpkin Maze! Stroll through lovely Gardens, team-build real scarecrows, pet the baby bunnies at the Petting Farm, go for a wagon ride, solve the Spiral Bale maze, then creep through the not-so Haunted Farmhouse. Reserve a campfire site and savor the flavors of a campfire cookout, and enjoy marshmallow and hotdog roast - extra fees apply.

We're excited to bring Kompany Family Theatre on as our offical Theatre Group for our festivals! Kompany Family Theatre is dedicated to providing quality professional theatre for children and families. Under the artistic direction of seasoned director & playwright, Jan Taylor, past productions have
included: Alberto the Dancing Alligator, The Diary Project, True Pirate Fashion and Squealy-Moo Children's Modular Theatre. Kompany Family Theatre is under the umbrella of Kompany Dance and Affiliated Artists Society, a non-profit organization and registered charity that has produced professional performances for over 30 years.

Whether you're looking for a daytrip into Edmonton’s countryside, a quick get-a-way with your family, or a children’s birthday party package, our Alberta pumpkin farm with indoor pumpkin patches and Corn Maze has a whole day of interactive fun for your family.
Time on Site
You can easily spend the whole day, or at least 1/2 a day with us - there's tons of activities - from wagon rides, to building real scarecrows for free! See our Entertainment schedule below...
What to Wear
Dress for the Alberta weather - don't forget mitts and hats! There are lots of outdoor activities, but you can warm up in heated greenhouse pavilions for lunch seating, theatre, puppet shows, and indoor pumpkin patches! It's a chilly fall, but we Albertan's aren't about to give into winter yet! Just wear some winter boots and head out for some fun! This is a working farm with #1 black Alberta topsoil; please expect some mud - it's been rainy!

Pumpkins
We grow over 27 varieties of pumpkins in the fields, then hand harvest them, and bring them to our indoor pumpkin patches to protect them from the cold. Details about our Pumpkins.
Food
We have three food concessions with festival fare ranging from BBQ hotdogs, to our own roasted banana potatoes, kebabs, chili, and beef on a bun. Hot chocolate, pumpkin pie and caramel apple blossoms are all favourites. You can also reserve a campfire site and we'll even supply the hotdog-roast picnic packs for $5 per person plus gst.

More about the The Great Prairie Corn Maze: It's cleverly designed with ‘Easy Out’ exits as an easy, intermediate or challenging maze, taking 20 minutes to 2 hours to complete. Come pit your wits to solve the largest 3-D puzzle in Canada! There are also 3 kid's mazes - the Pumpkin Maze, (12 minutes), Kidz Maze (6 minutes) and a spiral bale maze.
Cornelot is tall, tricky and designed to challenge your skills. Your mission: Find the 13 secret letters before dark! Great fun for families of all ages.
